Every 4 years, global experts and industry leaders gather for MINExpo—the world’s largest mining exhibition that showcases some of the best products, latest technologies, and services available. In 2016, Dräger wanted to make a memorable impact on attendees with the launch of their new MRC 5000 refuge shelter and MRV 9000 rescue vehicle.

As a first for Dräger North America, we suggested the creation of an interactive booth experience using Blippar augmented reality technology. Attendees were encouraged to download the free Blippar app in advance of the Expo and were rewarded with sneak-preview content and free Dräger gear. Throughout the booth, we created a series of custom markers that users could scan with the app – which would reveal additional info about each Dräger product (including additional product copy, videos, PDF downloads, and more). An additional marker was hidden within the booth connecting users to a prize-entry page as a bonus for exploring the AR experience and learning more about Dräger. The booth was a huge success, attracting many attendees, eager to try out the technology.
